FREE ebook + Paperback giveaway

Falling to Pieces was my debut novel, released in 2013. A while ago I blogged about heading back to the Falling Series because I missed my characters more than I could bear. I completely admit that leaving the series at two books was a HUGE mistake.

However, all is not lost…as part of NaNoWriMo 2019 book three will be penned.

As part of the process Falling to Pieces has had an editorial overhaul. With Falling to Pieces being my debut it required a little clean up and I’ve even created a playlist for my readers on YouTube, you can listen here.

Falling to Pieces is FREE for a limited time.

RELEASE DAY – Falling into You by L.T. Kelly 15th of May 2014

Banner - Falling Into You by LT Kelly (1)

Release day of ‘Falling into You’ has finally come. I can honestly say that I hit a rocky road with this book. Well, I’m taking a chance…

falling into you

I was lucky enough not to receive a ‘bad’ review for ‘Falling to Pieces’. “Thank fudge for that,” you can hear me say. By ‘bad’ review I mean someone who down right hated every part of the book, or worse, did not finish it. Those three little letters pierce my heart, I have nightmares about seeing DNF in conjunction with my book. I received some constructive criticism of what they thought was wrong with the story, every author needs that whether they agree with the reviewer is a different story. However, I have respected the thoughts of everyone who took the time to read and review my book. Sure, I think I have a couple of one and two star ratings on Goodreads but there are no words to go with the reviews. So I’m unable to consider what they thought was wrong with it.

frontpaperback

Here are some of the reviews from the last blog tour:

‘This is L.T.Kelly’s Debut Novel and I have to say I’m very impressed, very impressed indeed.

It’s a well written book with a storyline I adored and one I read in one sitting.’

– Passionate About Books.

‘Just Wow! It is full of sensuality, Sexuality, mystery, and left you sitting at the edge of your seat. I just could not read this book fast enough. I have not read a paranormal romance that good in God knows how long. The chemistry between Marc and Teagan was off the wall.’

– Fictions Our Addiction.

‘They both have this pull and there chemistry is HOT.  Crazy sex with one another and I am completely smitten with Marc.  He is very Alpha but in a controlled manner.  He has a duty to his family and is very torn with his feelings for Teagan.  Did I mention that they have HOT sex?’

-M’s Sinful Reviews.

‘This book to me should be an over all 60 stars, but the most we can rate a book is 10.  Please go her fan site, blog site and twitter . Contact her find out how you can purchase this book ASAP!!!! Trust me You DON’T. Want. TO. Miss. This. Book.’

-Mousiey Book Reviews

The main thing I enjoyed about this book was that it wasn’t like every other book that features vampires and werewolves. Instead of a young naive woman falling for the new guy who turns out to be a vampire, the main female character is strong and fights for what she wants, for who she wants. The main male character, Marc is another hot book boyfriend, who you will instantly want to read more about after his introduction into the story. This book has a great storyline with likeable characters and well detailed descriptions, L.T Kelly has done an awesome job and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.

-AKA The Book Harlot Reviews.

‘Falling into You’ is where I hit a kind of wall with convention and ‘the rules of romance writing’. I’m glad that I stuck to my guns. The story went where it had to go in my mind…but be warned, this story is not your conventional romance.

“Is this erotica?” One beta, M.K. Meredith asked me. My book is not what I would deem to be true erotica, my book doesn’t use the same type of words that I associate with true erotica. It’s more like romantically erotic, plus it does have a plot that is driven by much much more than pure sex alone.

I have taken a scary path of unconventional romance…but if you read the book and you can’t understand why Teagan did all the things she did, I will be surprised. I have written, what I think is a believable story. But, is that because it all happened in my head so many times? I’m not sure, and I’m tender hooks waiting to find out.

On the flip side, although the romance side of the book has left me somewhat exposed as a writer, I think that everyone thats read it hasn’t had a bad word to say about the plot itself. I’ve had nothing but praise and applaud for the twists and turns. “I just never saw that coming!” It’s made me feel so excited about the thrills and revelations that are rich within the story.

I guess what this writer is trying to say is, “If you think you feel uncomfortable as a romance reader with where the story is going, stick with it! I bet you’ll be glad you did!” (I hope.)

I really hope that you enjoy ‘Falling into You’. I *think* this will be the last paranormal work you will see from me. I’ll never say “never” because I always said I’d never write a novel….here I am two and half down, many many more to come…

Irresistible Reads BT

Loves Intensity by Cassandra Ulrich

I’m excited to introduce my latest and 2nd novel, Love’s Intensity, a teen paranormal romance novel, released on July 11, 2013.  I first plunged into writing novels with the release of my teen inspirational novel, A Beautiful Girl, on April 7, 2011.  Billiard Buddies, a New Adult romance novella, will mark my third release coming soon.  I enjoy writing characters with real life complexities.

I started out as a poet, entering competitions.  I figured I’d write short stories, but I never thought I’d write full length novels.  Never letting go of a dream a 5th grade teacher had for me and giving in to the encouragement of friends, I began writing Love’s Intensity, which had progressed in my mind for two months.  It was challenging to create a beginning for a story where I met the characters already living out their lives, but after reading the first chapter, my friends asked for more.  Having gone through three rewrites, I’m happy to present this story to everyone else.  This novel is only the beginning.  A series of novels is sure to follow.  Because my characters are multifaceted, readers respond to them like they are real people.  See below for a blurb, excerpt, and sites where a copy may be purchased.

Love’s Intensity Blurb:

Brad loves fast horses, cars, and bikes.  Life would be perfect if his stepmother could only mind her own business.  Instead, his father hired a longtime friend and her family to work in their home, turning his world into a feudal mess.

He wants to hate the new arrivals and it doesn’t help that Kressa, daughter of the newcomers, is the most gorgeous girl he’d ever laid eyes on.  With a scent that draws him to her, Kressa causes him more internal conflict than he ever dreamed possible.  He falls for her so deeply, he tells her a secret he’d never even told his best friends – that he’s training to be a ninja warrior.

Kressa adores her country and loves hanging out with her many cousins.  News of the move to Massachusetts comes as a shock to her.  She refuses to be happy in this new place working as a servant for a rich man and his mean son, who had the nerve to be cute.  And why does her skin tingle every time her hand brushes against his?

Despite her efforts, she finds herself desperately longing for a friendship with the one boy who scowls at her.  Matters are only made more complicated when his family and hers clash. When he goes on a dangerous mission, she wonders, will he return so she can tell him he’s won her heart or will their families manage to keep them apart?

Love’s Intensity Excerpt:

“Good job with the saddle,” Brad encouraged Kressa, “but next time you may want to use the stepping stool I got you yesterday. Keep Gentle Rider tied up to this post until you get settled, then you can untie her.” Moving the rake and pitchforks to the far end of the stable, Brad continued, “I have no idea what I would have done if you landed on these. I should have made sure these were properly put way, so the horses wouldn’t knock them over.” He picked up and brought the stepping stool over, placing it near Gentle Rider’s area.

“I suppose Papa would have had your head too.”

“Yeah, I’m glad you’re okay.”

Kressa rode her horse out the stable while Brad got his horse saddled, fed, and watered. After leading Silver Bullet into the yard, he asked Kressa, “Did you give her feed and water?”

****

Oh, no. Now he’ll be upset. He adores his horses.

“Sorry, I forgot. I was so eager to ride. I can do it now,” Kressa said, embarrassed that she forgot.

“No. It’ll take too much effort to get you on your horse again. I’ll go get it.” Kressa noticed Brad did not sound annoyed. He spoke to her in a matter-of-fact tone.

After feeding and watering her horse, Brad and Kressa galloped around the large grassy area. After riding for a half-hour, Brad pointed to the forest area. “Would you like to go through there and see what’s on the other side?”

“Yes,” Kressa eagerly responded, “I’ve wanted to know where you go when riding your horse.” Kressa realized too late she had exposed her secret.

“Have you been watching me? One day, I felt like I was being watched. I thought it might be you, but when I saw you in the dining room, I figured I must have been wrong.”

Kressa knew she ought to fess up. “It was me. I hid because I didn’t want you to know I was watching.”

“How did you run upstairs so fast? You didn’t look out of breath.”

“I held my breath until you moved away. I was exhausted.” Kressa tried to smile while casting her eyes to the ground. Brad laughed heartily.

“Let’s go,” he said, leading the way through a path in the forest, which had been created by much riding, to the grassy field on the other side.

When Brad and Kressa came out of the tree cover, the sun seemed to shine brighter due to the open space. No shrubs or little trees existed here, only light green short cut grass which reflected the sunlight. They raced the horses around the perimeter a couple times before coming to a stop.

****

Nina studied Julio while he watched Kressa during her riding lesson. When Brad led Kressa into the forest, Julio turned to Nina and barked, “Where is he taking her? I don’t like that boy. He’s not trustworthy. If he touches my girl…”

Nina interrupted, “He won’t touch her. He has strict orders from his father.”

“Nina, he’s a young man with an active libido. I don’t care what his orders are; he can’t be trusted to control what comes naturally. Now, he’s alone with her and under the cover of those trees,” Julio fumed.

“Julio, Kressa is a smart girl. She knows what we’ve taught her, what we expect. Even if he tried something, she would push him away.”

“But only if she doesn’t want him, Nina. He’s strong, good looking, and the only boy around to talk to. I’m going over there.”

“Please wait a few minutes. If they’re not back, then go, but please don’t hurt him.”

“You would elevate him over our daughter’s innocence?”

“No, Julio, of course not. I just don’t want you to do something you can’t return from. I love you.”

Julio shook his head and moved away from her. He must hate me for bringing him here. What can I do to change his mind?

****

Brad rode Silver Bullet alongside Kressa and Gentle Rider so the horses faced each other upon his approach. He gazed into Kressa’s eyes, longing to learn something new about the girl who lived in his house. Brad removed his riding glove and reached over to brush Kressa’s hair away from her face so he could touch her cheek. She did not shrink away. His fingertips tingled where her skin met his.

So beautiful. Brad’s heart pumped a little faster and his mind swirled. Does she feel drawn to me too? He shook his head slightly. “We should go back now,” Brad said tenderly, realizing once again that the warmth he felt when he touched Kressa also did something to his heart. It was better not to remain alone. He wondered if Kressa would ever admit whether she experienced any affection toward him. He found her hard to read sometimes.

Brad pulled on his glove, led the way back through the forest, and headed for the stable. After brushing, feeding, and watering all four horses, Brad and Kressa strolled back to the house. “Great lesson today. I think before long you’ll be able to go out on your own.”

“Really? That would be great. How many more lessons do I need?” She said eagerly.

“I would imagine one or two more.”

They both laughed at the good news. At that moment, Kressa’s dad appeared around some shrubs at the base of the hill. His face held a fiery red glow.

“Kressa, get to the house right now,” Mr. Morales said grabbing her arm and pushing her toward their apartment. “I don’t know what you were thinking today taking her through those woods, but I don’t like it.”

“Sir, there’s wide open space to run the horses on the other side of the trees. I wasn’t trying to seduce her,” Brad said, feeling some guilt for touching her cheek earlier.

Mr. Morales shot Brad a fierce look and took Kressa away.

Book Blurb:

An invisible wall built from the tears of those touched by death

An impossible love as divided as the world around them.

After Addison finds a nearly-dusted vampire in the garbage outside her building, her ability to stay off the supernatural world’s radar is deader than the vamp. Almost as dead as she’ll be if anyone thinks she put him there. Should she finish the job somebody else screwed up or move him somewhere humans won’t find him? To keep the Heights hidden, she may have shoved a stake into her own chest. Just when she thinks life couldn’t possibly get any more dangerous, she finds out who he is.

As vampire king and Prime to all races of supernatural beings in the North American zone, Rhyse is accustomed to getting what he wants without asking. But he neither wanted nor asked to be wounded in an ambush, waking up chained to a bed with a hole in his chest. Unfortunately, he needs help to discover who tried to kill him. But worse than that, his only ally is his captor, someone unaware she has the power to destroy their entire world.

As a prophesized war brews in the Heights, Addison and Rhyse must decide which carries more risk—trusting someone who could destroy you or trusting someone who could love you?

Excerpt:

Addison stumbled backwards, until the counter stopped her. It was over. It had been over ever since those chains came off. Ever since she brought him into her apartment. Into her life.

“I saved you, Rhyse. I could’ve left you outside until the sun came up.”

“I imagine you wish you had.”

“Can you…can you not kill me? Just take some, but not all?”

Rhyse brushed her hair behind her shoulder and curled his fingers around the nape of her neck, whispering, “Do you trust me that much?”

“I don’t even trust you a little.” She felt the sting of tears. “I don’t want to be turned. If you drain me, let me die.”

He ran his other hand up her shoulder, to her throat and slowly closed his fingers around it. One move and her neck would break. “To drain you I would have to drink from you. And that, my pet, I will not do.”

She didn’t know what he meant but now seemed like a bad time to argue.

“Did you know what you are? How many of you exist?”

She didn’t answer. Partially because speaking required the air he was cutting off. Then his hands were gone, just like the rest of him.

Was it over?

When one of the women behind the counter moaned, Addison went to make sure they were alright.

Rhyse was on top of one of them, his fangs obviously burrowed in her neck. The woman moaned again, her legs wrapping around him. One hand clutched his shoulder and the other slapped the wall, searching for a hold.

It had to have been shock that made it impossible to look away. Or run away. The woman’s moans got louder, then crested, and her body went limp. Not in a dead way, but in an I-just-had-the-best-orgasm-of-my-life way.

Get out of here.

“Leave and they will die.” His voice stopped her after only two steps. “Stay and they will wake up from a very pleasant, very erotic dream.”

She grinded her teeth when she heard another moan. He must have moved on to the other woman. With two to feed from, there was less of a chance he would drain them, but… “Why should I trust you?”

The woman’s moans stopped and she whined, “No.”

“I do not care if you trust me,” he said. “Only that you obey me.”

“Fuck you.” But she didn’t move. “Are they alive?”

“Of course. It is against the law to kill humans.”

“Then let me go.”

“You are not human, Addison.” His voice came from just over her shoulder.

“I am. I promise. Totally human.” Somehow he’d missed the fact that seers were human, despite her telling him at least five times.

She heard the shuffling of fabric and looked down to see him wrapping his already-bloody shirt around the arm she’d cut. He tied a knot with the sleeves and pulled it tight. There was no part of this that she understood.

She sucked in a breath when he put his hands on her hipbones. Then another as they slid to her belly and down, pressing her back into him. She felt his heat and a vibration on her back as he made a sound similar to a cat’s purr but scarier. Clenching her eyes shut, she waited for death.

“You should thank them.” His voice was all sex. Dangerous, risky, awesome sex. “They just saved your life.”

They did? “Thank you,” she called out with a shaking voice. “Now that your belly’s full, how about you back off a little?”

“I should kill you, Addison.”

“I’m going to have to disagree with you about that.”

After a moment he stepped away, sighing as if he just made a really tough decision and wasn’t sure it was the right one.

“So,” she said, heading for the door, “it seems like you’re feeling better which is great. I’m really happy for you. Since you don’t need me anymore, I’m gonna go now. I’ll see you around.”

“Come to me, Addison.” His eyes were back to their original inhumanly beautiful color. Though he didn’t quite look calm, he looked satisfied.

“No.”

“Come to me or I will snap your neck.”

“Okay.”

“If you had simply brought a human to me, this all could have been avoided.”

“I was just thinking the same thing.” Total lie—she wasn’t thinking a goddamn thing besides, “Shiiiiit!”

“You and I have things to discuss, and a few memories to alter along the way back to your home.”

Damn it on many counts. “Alter or wipe?”

“Alter, of course. Although my strength has returned, wiping that many minds would still be highly taxing. I prefer to save my power for other activities.”

Like…? Nah, she didn’t want to know.

He opened the door and gestured for her to go first. Which he’d probably never done before. Minions opened doors for him and she doubted chivalry ranked high on his list of valuable traits. But she went because when you gotta go, you gotta go.

“Did you know?” he asked.

What was it with that question? “Know what? That your victims come while you feed? Yeah, I heard it happens occasionally.”

“Always. They always come while I feed. If it were possible, I would show you.”

“I just heard more proof than I wanted to, thanks.”

“I have no doubt that it would be far more enjoyable to feel you come than to hear her do it.”

The great review race!

I am running a month long giveaway. I really wanted some more reviews. Everyone knows that reviews are the lifeblood of an author and I’ve been extremely lucky to have had some awesome reviews already. Theres no beating that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you read one.

I am genuinely touched that people seem to love it. Even if they hate it…it made them feel something, right? 😉

The reason that I have set up this Rafflecopter giveaway the way that I have is to thank the people who have bought and reviewed my book already. I’m grateful for every reader that I’ve already captured, and this is just my way of saying thanks. I don’t want to be one of those authors that only rewards new readers…where would you be without ALL of your readers? Every reader deserves the same amount of attention, past or present.

I’m rewarding buyers past or present with 10 entries. I’m also giving 5 entries to anyone who has already reviewed and giving them the opportunity to spread their review across the platforms available for 5 entries per review. All of these opportunities are available to new readers too!

My book will never be FREE on any platform. I simply believe that it’s far to easy to ‘one-click’ a free book. You’re not investing any time into finding out whether that book is for you by reading the reviews or even reading the blurb. I believe that could result in not so great reviews based on the fact that the reader doesn’t like that kind of book rather than the book is ‘bad’.

Therefore anyone that wants a FREE copy will have to e-mail me for a copy. I’m even throwing in an entry for requesting it!

Falling to Pieces – Blog Tour wrap-up – Whats next for L.T. Kelly

TheImage

The Blog Tour for ‘Falling to Pieces’ has come to an end today.

The giveaway winners have been selected and announced on my FaceBook page.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the bloggers for their participation. I’d also like to thank everyone who’s supported me and helped me get this far. Without all of you I wouldn’t have succeeded.

It’s been a very difficult few weeks for me, I’ve started ‘Falling Apart’, but I’ve found it very difficult to promote and write at the same time. So, You’ll be glad to know that I’m giving the promotion a rest in order to concentrate on my writing. I know those of you out there that love ‘Falling to Pieces’ will spread the word for me.

I’ve done so very well, and I’m over the moon that so many people love my characters and my writing. I’ve had very few negative comments and didn’t pick up anything less than 3* reviews throughout the tour. I’m also lucky enough to have an average rating of 4.60 on Goodreads! That is totally amazing and I’m over the moon. Amazon.com and co.uk hosts only 5* reviews. I’m a lucky girl!

Of course, not everyone will love ‘Falling to Pieces’. It’s been compared to ‘Twilight’ which was a bit stingy. Not because I don’t love ‘Twilight’, I actually do, but I can’t see the likeness personally. I spoke to a friend about it to get her opinion, she helpfully said “What! Twilight? Are they mad? It’s much more like ‘True Blood'” at which point I went outside and banged my head off the brick wall! I think ‘Falling to Pieces’ is like, well…’Falling to Pieces’. :D.

So whats next…

I’m currently writing Chapter Three of ‘Falling Apart’. I’ll be getting my head down on that one now the tour has finished. If you see me on FaceBook for lengthy periods feel free to shout at me “SHOULDN’T YOU BE WRITING!?” That will jolt me out of my stupor. Hopefully.

Theres a lot going on next week, I’ll be interviewing my favourite author Christopher Buecheler on this very blog. They’ll also be an amazing joint giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

On the 5th of September I’m doing my first ever book signing! In addition to that my baby boy is starting school! It’s going to be an emotional day.

On the 11th of September I’m appearing on a radio show called ‘Freshly Booked’ hosted by the lovely Tricia Anderson. The show is part of the Writers Online Network, and can be found at Blog Talk Radio. It will be aired at an earlier time because I need my beauty sleep! 1700 CST or 2300 GMT.

In October I start a BA (Hons) in Humanities with a pathway to creative writing. It’s my dream to teach people, so it must be done. This is why I expect ‘Falling Apart’ to take me a little longer to write.

You guys are amazing and I love anyone who supports me in any way shape or form. Thanks from the bottom of my heart <3.
